Feeling More Like Summer
Summer is starting to feel like summer again currently - England have gone out of a tournament, Wimbledon starts today, and shock horror - there will actually be some warmer temperatures and sunny spells to be had this week.
Today is more than likely to be the driest day of the week with just a scattering of showers around - these typically affecting eastern and southwestern parts. Elsewhere it's dry and bright with some decent sunny spells to be seen and with temperatures typically hitting 16-20c it'll not feel too bad at all.
Beyond today temperatures will be on the rise - peaking on Thursday where 25-27c is likely in southern and central parts. At the same time though we will see more in the way of showers - and as the humidity rises from midweek onwards there is an increasing risk of some of those showers taking it up a notch and developing into thunderstorms.
Tuesday will see showery rain moving into western parts - for England and Wales the showers are likely to be fairly patchy in nature with a good number of places - particularly away from the west missing them altogether. It's a slightly different picture for Scotland though where early showers will tend to become more organised through the day with some pretty heavy rain likely through central Scotland later on in the day.
Wednesday will see more showers around, but again there will be every opportunity to miss them altogether Thursday will follow the same pattern but with the showers and by this point storms potentially becoming more widespread.
Looking beyond, it's a little cooler as we close out the week and move into the weekend with more showers likely - these most prevalent in northern and western parts.
