28th July.

Heatwave conditions start to spread from the south west to all areas of the country.

Great news for anyone who's booked up a holiday in Cornwall at that time.

Coincidentally...... <_<

Surprisingly they are not playing on the middle Sunday at Wimbledon, despite the fact that they haven't completed 3rd round matches and got so little play today. The problem seems to be the beginning of next week, the weekend forecast for the finals isn't too bad at present.

looking at the gfs the best days at the moment are the 5,6,7, but rain is forecast at most nights if the models are right!!!

IGNORE St Swithins Day folk myths. Surprised to see them being repeated here!

Stupid woman was retailing populist nonsense ... she's supposed to be a weather forecaster, not a childrens story teller. We will NOT get 40 days and 40 nights of rain after Sunday (15th July) and even if we did it would be entirely a coincidence ...

Mind you that is GM TV, so I suppose I should expect no better,

And it is not even the end of the month.... Could well be even higher rain fall totals by then.

My punt is it will become a lot drier wc 30th July.

Crikey... Can easily see us being in the top 3 by the end of the month. Another 15mm this summer is nothing.

This is from met check front page

A wet Sunday in store for many areas, as a warm plume heads North from the Bay of Biscay during this evening.

The scenario is already developing. An intense upper level trough is already anchored just West of Ireland. During this evening, so a surface area of low pressure develops across Biscay and the travels North, up along the edge of the trough.

There is a risk of some imported thunderstorms into the far South-east during the early hours of Sunday morning, however the main threat is further West where it arrives across the South-west at around day break.

During Sunday, so the rain pushes North across all areas. Some substantial accumulations are possible across parts of Wales and South-west England and a renewed risk of local flooding is possible.

As Sunday ends, so things will quieten down somewhat, but the risk of a Kent Clipper with imported thunderstorms remains a risk (albeit around 30%) late on Sunday evening.

just looking at the radar now it’s looking like parts of the east going to get some very heavy thunder storms and a good chance of some flash flooding this morning, as all the storm programs are saying there are some huge storms in the channel leaving France this morning

That is a pretty amazing stat from Mr.Data, we are above every single 20th/21st century MJJ combo and we still have half a month to go and todays rainfall is no doubt going to lift us another few places, in fact we really do have a shot at the all time record from the looks of it!

Probably a shot at the wettest summer in the last 100 years as well. Anybody using pattern matching to try and predict this autumn and winter will be short of suitable years I think.
